A little guitar project for my son. At his size there are few decent small electric guitars. I started with a Squier Mini, similar in configuration to a Stratocaster, gutted it and installed used humbuckers...thus the Humcaster name. For the headstock logo, I used a Scotch-brite pad to remove the original logo and lightly scuff the finish. Two coats of spray acrylic; dry overnight. I applied the waterslide decal and used a Q-tip to smooth it out. Dry overnight. In 15-min intervals I applied more spray acrylic - first 4 coats a bare spritz. Rotated the piece 90 degrees with each coat. Next 4 light sprays, then a couple of single passes. By the 10th-12th coat, make good two spray pass. On the 12th coat, dry overnight. Light sand with the pad. Two more coats & 2 hrs later finish with a toilet paper buffing. Yep.
Mitch made a custom decal to my specs for a special project for me. I told him what I wanted, he sent a sample mock up, we made a few tweaks and sent me a final sample to approve, all within a couple of days. I received it the next week it the mail. The decal was a high quality rendering that met my needs and was beyond my expectations! Good stuff Mitch! Very professional fast and personal service! Highly recommended!
